Image metadata
What this tool helps you do
- Inspect readable EXIF, XMP, ICC, IPTC, JFIF, and image-header fields before sharing supplier or product files.
- Re-encode a cleaned JPEG so metadata such as camera, timestamp, device, and location no longer travels with the public image.
- Keep the inspection and privacy-cleanup workflow local to the browser instead of uploading sensitive originals.
How it works
- 1Open a JPEG, PNG, TIFF, WebP, HEIC, or HEIF image.
- 2Inspect available metadata fields, then run the clean export.
- 3Verify the exported image and download the cleaned version for sharing.

Technical references
These sources document the browser APIs and image standards behind the tool. Marketplace policies can change independently, so confirm current seller guidance before a bulk upload.
Questions about this browser tool
Does cleaning metadata reduce image quality?
The clean export creates a new JPEG at high quality rather than editing the original in place. JPEG re-encoding can introduce minor changes, so keep the original file and use the cleaned copy only for distribution.
Why are no metadata fields shown?
The file may contain no readable EXIF block, the format may expose only limited metadata, or the browser may not decode that source format. A readable empty result is different from a failed decode.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Source files, QR values, GIF frames and PDF pages are processed in this browser with Canvas and local JavaScript libraries. The site does not upload the files or save outputs to account history.
What are the browser limits?
Use a current Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox release. Very large images, long GIFs and complex PDFs can be limited by available device memory, and encrypted PDFs may need to be unlocked first.
